This week we are focusing on the difference between a fact and an opinion. We will play several games and do a few activities to help us decide is that something that can proven or is it someone's personal thought. We will use what we learn to help in our persuasive writing, using facts to prove our point and opinions to convince our reader we are right.

Math:
Area is the focus this week. We will learn how to partition objects into units and count the units to find the area.

Social Studies:
Ahoy Matey! Thar be me buried treasure! We're pirates this week who have buried a chest of precious treasure somewhere on a deserted island. So that we don't lose our treasure, we will be making a pirate map of the island, including land forms and other important land marks. The pirates will make a path that leads right to the treasure so we can come check on it anytime.
